Bullish candle 🟢

Close above open, buyers won the period.
The bigger the body, the stronger the conviction.
A close near the very high = buyers kept control to the bell.

Bearish candle 🔴

Close below open, sellers won the period.
A close near the very low = sellers in full control.
Repeated big red bodies = a market trending down with intent.

Same range, opposite verdicts

Beyond the color

Two green candles can mean very different things: a huge body closing on its high screams strength; a tiny body with a long upper wick says buyers tried and got slapped. Color says who won, the *shape* says how convincingly.
